When did your DJ career first begin? It started as a hobby in high school, then professionally with Astro in 1998.
Why/how did you become a DJ? I love music but have no musical talent, meaning I can't sing or play an instrument... this is the closest I can get to being a musician. After high school, I became friends with a DJ that played in a local nightclub and he influenced me to join the Astro team.
How would you describe your personal DJ/MC style? Fun but not too " in-your-face". I prefer to let the music create the vibe & the energy... not the microphone. I like to throw a great party but not be the center of attention... nobody is there to see me.
What are some notable accomplishments, awards or recognitions you have received throughout your DJ career? I've been given the "Brides Choice" award for many years by WeddingWire.com, and has been recognized as “Best of” by The Knot Magazine.
What is your favorite thing about being a DJ? The feeling of accomplishment at the end of an event. Knowing the client enjoyed their big day and knowing I played a part in the success of their event.
What are a few interesting (non DJ related) facts about yourself? I don't know what to say here so I'll list some random stuff... take from it what you want. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing sports, & coaching crossfit classes. Born and raised in Chesapeake but live in VB now. Attended Old Dominion University.
